<h2>Annual renewal checklist</h2>
|
||
|
||

<li>Scholarship, bank and tax data, and passport validity</li>
|
||

<h2>Repeat, programme change, and inactive study</h2>
|
||
|
||
<p>Students commonly have one major repeat or programme-change opportunity at a study level, but the exact legal and institutional effect depends on the student’s history and current rules. Before using it, ask the referat for a written record of previous enrolments, repeated years, programme changes, remaining rights, and tuition and status consequences.</p>
|
||
|
||

<li>Prepis: enrolling again, often in the first year of another programme; some completed obligations may later be recognised</li>
|
||
<li>Prehod: entry into a higher year of another compatible programme where the conditions are met</li>
|
||
<li>Pavziranje: you may keep completing obligations but normally without student status or benefits</li>
|
||
<li>Parallel study: possible after successful first-programme progress; places and financing are limited and institution-specific</li>
|
||
</ul>
|
||
|
||
<h2>Losing status and exceptional progression</h2>
|
||
|
||
<p>Loss of student status may affect residence, meals, transport, student work, insurance, accommodation, and a scholarship, so contact the faculty and administrative unit before the change becomes final. Universities may allow exceptional progression for documented reasons such as longer illness, parenthood, serious social circumstances, recognised special needs, high-level sport or culture, or significant university participation; the relevant committee decides, so submit evidence before the faculty deadline.</p>
|
||
|
||
<h2>Post-study route</h2>
|
||
|
||
<p>A graduate who completed eligible higher education in Slovenia within the relevant period can apply for the job-seeking or self-employment-search permit. It is issued for a maximum of nine months, is not renewable, and is for searching only, not regular employment. Apply before the current residence basis expires, and change to an appropriate work or self-employment permit once the next basis is secured. If the final completion certificate is delayed, ask the upravna enota whether it will accept the application and set a later deadline for the missing evidence.</p>

<h2>Leaving Slovenia</h2>
|
||
|
||

<li>Deregister the address where required and end the rental contract.</li>
|
||
<li>Recover the deposit, return keys, and pay final utilities.</li>
|
||
<li>Close or maintain the bank account deliberately and cancel phone and internet.</li>
|
||
<li>Check tax obligations and collect the diploma, transcript, and diploma supplement.</li>
|
||
<li>Save residence and insurance records and join the MSOS alumni network.</li>
|
||
