<h2>Typical first-permit evidence</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>The official study-permit form requires or may require:</p>
|
|
|
|
<ul class="guide-checklist">
|
|
<li>Photograph or electronic-photo reference</li>
|
|
<li>Valid passport or certified passport copy</li>
|
|
<li>Health insurance covering at least emergency healthcare if not compulsorily insured in Slovenia</li>
|
|
<li>Sufficient means of subsistence</li>
|
|
<li>Criminal-record certificate from the home country for the first permit</li>
|
|
<li>Proof of admission or enrolment in an accredited programme</li>
|
|
<li>Application form</li>
|
|
<li>Biometrics</li>
|
|
<li>Translations and verification requested by the authority</li>
|
|
<li>Fee payment</li>
|
|
</ul>

|
|
|
<h2>Start before you have every physical student document</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Ask whether the admission decision is sufficient to begin and whether a final certificate of enrolment must follow. Waiting until the last possible moment after enrolment may create time pressure.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Passport</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>The permit cannot safely be planned beyond the validity of the travel document. Renew early where necessary.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Health insurance</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>RM/SI 3 and the later Potrdilo MedZZ can support the health-insurance pathway for eligible Macedonian students, but confirm which evidence the residence authority accepts at the application stage.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Criminal record</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Obtain it early enough to translate and verify, but not so early that it exceeds any freshness requirement.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Biometrics and collection</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Confirm:</p>
|
|
|
|

<li>Where fingerprints are taken</li>
|
|
<li>Whether personal appearance is required</li>
|
|
<li>Where the card is collected</li>
|
|
<li>Whether delivery by post is available</li>
|

<li>What document proves lawful status while waiting</li>

|
<h2>Permit duration</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>The permit may be tied to the study purpose, supporting documents, and passport validity. Never assume it will automatically cover the entire degree.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Renewal</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Begin well before expiry. Prepare:</p>
|
|
|
|

|
|
<li>Passport</li>
|
|
<li>Insurance</li>
|
|
<li>Means</li>
|
|
<li>Address</li>
|
|
<li>Academic or status evidence requested</li>

|
</ul>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Complete first-permit checklist</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Prepare the following as the standard core, subject to the individual request of the authority:</p>
|
|
|
|

|
|
<li>Completed application form for study residence</li>
|
|
<li>Biometric photograph, normally 35 by 45 millimetres, or an accepted electronic-photo reference</li>
|
|
<li>Valid passport or certified passport copy</li>
|
|
<li>Evidence of health insurance covering at least emergency healthcare in Slovenia</li>
|
|
<li>Evidence of sufficient means</li>
|
|
<li>Criminal-record certificate from the home country for a first permit, normally recent and officially translated when required</li>
|
|
<li>Certificate of enrolment or other accepted admission evidence for the accredited programme</li>
|
|
<li>Evidence and translations requested in the individual case</li>
|
|
<li>Fee payment</li>
|
|
<li>Biometrics</li>
|
|
</ul>
|
|
|
|
<p>The passport should remain valid beyond the intended stay. Confirm the current minimum validity requirement before applying.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Six-step procedure</h2>
|
|
|
|
<ul class="guide-steps">
|
|
<li>Confirm the route with the Embassy in Skopje or an upravna enota.</li>
|
|
<li>Prepare originals, copies, translations, and the application form.</li>
|
|
<li>Submit the application personally, through an authorised route, or through the educational institution where legally permitted.</li>
|
|
<li>Complete biometrics and provide any requested supplement.</li>
|
|
<li>Receive the decision and collect the permit card as instructed.</li>
|
|
<li>Register the temporary address and preserve proof of registration.</li>
|
|
</ul>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Validity and renewal</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>The study permit is normally issued for no more than one year at a time. File the renewal before the current permit expires.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>The permit depends on active study</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Notify the upravna enota if you withdraw, interrupt, finish, or materially change the study on which the permit is based.</p>
|
|
|
|
<p>Study-permit applications receive priority handling under the official guidance, but this is not a promise of a fixed processing time.</p>
|
