University overview
University of Ljubljana
Largest choice of programmes and the largest city. Housing pressure and private rents are usually the main practical challenge. Bachelor admission for non-EU applicants has a central UL procedure. Master deadlines are mostly faculty specific.
University of Maribor
Large public university with programmes in Maribor and some faculties or programmes in other locations. The university is integrated into the city. Official dormitories also publish market prices for foreign students.
University of Primorska
Located primarily in Koper and the wider coastal region. It publishes specific extended application periods and separate places for Western Balkan applicants. Housing near the coast should be arranged early.
University of Nova Gorica
Smaller university with study locations in Nova Gorica, Rožna Dolina, Vipava, and other programme-specific locations. It offers several application rounds while places remain. Students must check the exact teaching location before signing accommodation.

- Is there a separate Western Balkan quota?
- Does full-time study require tuition in my case?

- Is attendance compulsory?
- What happens if my final diploma is issued after the application deadline?
