Research

Bachelor

  • Read the annual national call for enrolment.
  • Confirm whether the programme is academic, professional, or an integrated master.
  • Check admission subjects, selection criteria, language, available non-EU or Western Balkan places, and aptitude tests.
  • Compare the actual city where teaching takes place.

Master

  • Read the university or faculty call.
  • Confirm whether your bachelor field is directly eligible.
  • Check whether the programme committee may assign additional courses.
  • Verify language evidence, interview, motivation letter, portfolio, references, or work-experience requirements.
2

Prepare documents

Prepare early:

  • Valid passport
  • Final diploma or certificate
  • Annual school reports for bachelor applicants
  • Transcript and diploma supplement for master applicants
  • Certified translations when requested
  • Chronological education statement
  • Motivation letter and CV where requested
  • High-quality digital scans

Do not wait until the final application day to discover that a translation, transcript, or additional programme document is missing.

3

Submit through eVŠ

  • Open the correct call and select the correct applicant category.
  • Enter previous education completed abroad.
  • Select programmes in the permitted order and start the recognition request inside the application.
  • Upload every requested attachment and press Submit.
  • Save the confirmation and monitor eVŠ and email for requests to supplement the application.
4

Recognition and selection

The institution checks whether your previous education grants access to the requested level, whether your documents are complete, whether programme-specific conditions are met, and your ranking where applications exceed available places.

Recognition is not a separate optional service. For applicants educated abroad, it is part of the admission process.

5

Admission and enrolment

After a positive decision:

  • Read the faculty’s enrolment instructions.
  • Complete electronic or in-person enrolment.
  • Pay only charges that are officially required.
  • Download or request a certificate of enrolment (potrdilo o vpisu).
  • Confirm when student status starts and obtain access to the student portal and official email.
6

Residence, health, and housing

Do these processes in parallel rather than one after another:

  • Confirm the residence-permit pathway with the Embassy or administrative unit.
  • Obtain the Macedonian health-insurance form RM/SI 3 where eligible.
  • Search for accommodation and prepare proof of accommodation and of sufficient means.
  • Check passport validity and obtain a criminal-record certificate if required for the first permit.
  • Arrange translations requested by the residence authority.
7

Travel and arrival

Carry in hand luggage:

  • Passport, and admission and enrolment evidence
  • Residence application or permit evidence and RM/SI 3
  • Accommodation contract or confirmation
  • Originals of important education documents
  • Medical documentation and medication, contact details, and emergency funds
8

First week

  • Move in and record the condition of the room.
  • Complete enrolment if still pending and obtain the real EMŠO if not already assigned.
  • Register the address within the applicable deadline.
  • Submit RM/SI 3 to ZZZS and obtain Potrdilo MedZZ.
  • Obtain a Slovenian tax number if needed, activate student meals, and arrange transport.
  • Learn the student portal, timetable, and exam system, attend orientation, and contact MSOS.
9

During the year

  • Track residence and insurance expiry dates.
  • Renew benefits each academic year and keep copies of decisions and certificates.
  • Inform institutions when your address, passport, programme, or status changes.
  • Ask before withdrawing, changing programme, pausing, or beginning regular employment, because these actions may affect status and residence.
