Who this page applies to

Macedonian citizens who completed or are completing secondary education outside Slovenia and are applying for the first year of a bachelor or integrated master programme.

Main process

  • Read the national call and the institution’s instructions.
  • Apply electronically through eVŠ.
  • Select up to the number of programme preferences permitted by the call.
  • Start recognition of foreign secondary education inside the application.
  • Upload supporting documents.
  • Complete any aptitude or ability test.
  • Monitor eVŠ for requests and the selection decision.
  • Enrol at the institution after acceptance.

Typical document package

The institution may request:

  • Final secondary-school certificate
  • Annual school reports
  • Matura or final-exam evidence
  • Certified Slovenian translation where required
  • Evidence of the content and duration of education
  • Signed chronological education history
  • Passport copy and programme-specific evidence
  • Evidence for special applicant status where relevant

2026/2027 examples for Macedonian citizens

University of Ljubljana

  • First application: 18 February to 18 March 2026.
  • If secondary school was already completed, documents were generally due by 18 March; if completing school in 2026, generally by 31 July.
  • First-round results for non-EU applicants were scheduled by 28 August.
  • The 2 to 3 September second period is restricted and is not a normal open second chance for every new applicant.

University of Maribor

  • First application: 18 February to 18 March 2026.
  • Documents by 18 March if education was already completed, or by 31 July for students completing in 2026.
  • Second application: 3 to 4 September 2026 where conditions and places allow.

University of Primorska, Western Balkan category

  • First application: 18 February to 30 June 2026.
  • Second application: 20 to 27 July 2026.
  • Third application: 20 August to 3 September 2026.
  • Remaining-place period: 23 to 24 September 2026 at 10:00.

University of Nova Gorica, non-EU category

  • First application: 18 February to 18 March 2026.
  • Second application: 1 April to 1 July 2026.
  • Third application: 1 August to 1 September 2026.
  • Final period: 10 to 24 September 2026.

Later rounds may not open if all places are filled.

Common mistakes

  • Applying under the wrong citizenship category.
  • Treating an integrated master as a second-cycle master.
  • Uploading only the final certificate and not annual reports.
  • Assuming one university’s deadline applies to another.
  • Forgetting the aptitude test or saving the application without pressing Submit.
  • Ignoring an eVŠ request to supplement documents, or assuming a second round will definitely open.
