Current general rule for 2026/2027
Under the current calls and education-cooperation arrangements, citizens of North Macedonia are generally treated like Slovenian and EU citizens regarding foreign-student tuition for full-time first-cycle and second-cycle study at public institutions and publicly funded concession programmes.
This is a major benefit, but it is not a promise that every programme is free.

Current Western Balkan master scholarship example
The 380th public call for the 2026/2027 year supports citizens of selected Western Balkan countries, including North Macedonia, in selected master fields.
The published support is €9,600 per study year for living expenses, with an application deadline of 2 September 2026.
Eligible fields include selected natural sciences, mathematics and statistics, information and communication technologies, engineering and manufacturing, civil engineering, agriculture and related fields, veterinary studies, and health or social-security fields.
Always check the exact published call. Not all master programmes are eligible.
