Macedonian citizens applying to a Slovenian second-cycle master programme after a completed or nearly completed bachelor degree.
The important difference from bachelor admission
Master admission is more decentralised. The university publishes a call, but the exact deadline, eligible prior fields, selection criteria, language conditions, and required attachments may be controlled by the faculty or programme.
There is no safe single national master deadline.
Typical master documents
- Bachelor diploma or temporary proof of completion
- Transcript and diploma supplement
- Certified translation when requested
- Signed chronological education statement and passport
- CV, motivation letter, and language evidence
- References, portfolio, research outline, or work evidence where required
- Description or syllabi of prior courses if the programme checks field equivalence
Field compatibility
A programme may accept your degree directly, accept it with additional courses, require a programme-committee decision, or reject it because the prior field does not provide the required foundation.
2026/2027 examples
University of Ljubljana
UL offers 154 second-cycle master programmes and separate places for Western Balkan applicants, but application deadlines are faculty specific. Check the faculty page and eVŠ call. Do not rely on a deadline from another UL faculty.
University of Maribor, non-EU category
- First period: 31 March to 30 April 2026.
- Possible second period: 24 August to 4 September 2026.
- Remaining-place period: 22 to 23 September 2026 at 12:00 where offered.
A faculty may choose not to open another round even if a small number of places remain.
University of Primorska, Western Balkan category
- First period: 8 April to 3 August 2026.
- Second period: 13 to 20 August 2026.
- Third period: 1 to 8 September 2026.
- Remaining-place period: 23 to 24 September 2026 at 10:00.
Check the specific faculty because programme availability may vary.
University of Nova Gorica
- First period: 18 February to 18 March 2026.
- Second period: 1 April to 1 June 2026.
- Third period: 1 August to 1 September 2026.
- Final period: 10 to 24 September 2026.
Later rounds remain closed if earlier demand fills the places.
Finishing the bachelor degree during the application year
Some calls allow an application before the final diploma is issued. That does not remove the requirement to prove completion before enrolment.
Confirm the last date for graduation, the last date for uploading final evidence, whether a temporary certificate is accepted, whether the diploma supplement can follow later, and whether recognition can proceed before all evidence arrives.
Additional obligations
Applicants from a different academic field may receive between a small number and a substantial number of additional ECTS obligations. Obtain this decision early, because courses may need to be completed before enrolment.
