Create one master folder
Use a clear structure such as passport, secondary school, bachelor degree, translations, eVŠ, admission, residence, health insurance, accommodation, enrolment, tax and bank, and renewals. Store it securely in two locations.

Original, copy, translation
- Original: document issued by the institution
- Copy: reproduction of the original
- Certified copy: copy formally confirmed as matching the original
- Translation: language version
- Certified translation: translation prepared or certified for official use
- Legalisation: confirmation of document authenticity where required
Passport and criminal-record certificate
Residence authorities may consider passport validity when determining the permit period, so renew early if it expires during the study year. A first temporary-residence application may require a criminal-record certificate from the home country; check how recent it must be, whether translation or legalisation is required, and whether an original is required.
